Marks of a Healthy Student Ministry

A healthy student ministry has:

1. People who are part of the local church. one28 upholds the same doctrine and philosophy of ministry as the elders of Grace Bible Church. Additionally, those in one28 aim to learn from and serve the entire body.

2. People who are godly leaders. one28 is led by believers who strive to meet all the character qualifications for deacons/deaconesses. Each leader is committed to use their spiritual giftedness for the sake of shepherding and making disciples.

3. People with an appetite and ability to study God’s Word. one28 seeks to stimulate a hunger for Scripture by regularly teaching from it. Additionally, one28 endeavors to equip students to understand and apply the Bible for themselves.

4. People who pursue spiritual maturity. one28 labors and strives to present every student complete in Christ. one28 emphasizes and encourages every student to pursue spiritual growth and to embrace spiritual accountability with each another and their leaders.

5. People who are passionate about discipleship. one28 attempts to create an environment for the evangelism of every unbeliever, the edification of every believer, and the equipping of those who are faithful as part of the Great Commission.

6. People who pray for spiritual things. one28 is devoted to prayer as a means for salvation and sanctification. Additionally, one28 endeavors to teach each student the value of, and manner of, seeking things above in their prayers.

7. People who place a high priority on the family. one28 understands that the primary spiritual responsibility for every student falls on their parents. Additionally, one28 encourages students to live out their profession of faith at home first.

8. People who pursue spiritual fellowship. one28 urges students to move beyond banal conversations and superficial relationships. Rather, one28 works to create a community of those considering how to stir up one another to love and good deeds.

9. People who seek to glorify God in everything. one28 challenges students and staff to serve with more than their left-over time, giftedness, and resources. Instead, one28 exhorts every believer to serve actively, sacrificially, individually, corporately, and wholeheartedly.
